EVERETT, Wash. - A routine stop at a convenience store for some iced tea turned into a life-changing moment for an Everett father, known as D.B. According to the Washington Lottery, this fortunate individual had just dropped off his son at school and decided to make a quick visit to the Evergreen Food Store in Everett.

D.B. purchased three Scratch tickets in addition to his iced tea. Although two of them didn't yield any rewards, the third ticket revealed itself as a life-altering winner!

"In a stroke of serendipity, a single lottery ticket secured him a remarkable prize of $500,000."

Even though he was alone at the time, D.B. couldn't contain his astonishment and reportedly looked around the room in disbelief, audibly questioning, "Did I really win this?" He promptly shared his good news with his mother and generously offered to alleviate her medical debt.

With a sense of financial security, he assured his mother, "You can retire now." D.B. also expressed his intention to purchase a car for his son and allocate funds for his college education.

Remarkably, this wasn't D.B.'s first stroke of luck. Six years ago, he purchased a winning $1,000 scratch ticket from the same Evergreen Food Store. Three years later, lightning struck twice when he obtained a $10,000 winning Scratch ticket from that very store, as revealed by lottery officials.
